It's More Than Just Making Them Sweat

Publisher: Robert Reed Publishers

It's More Than Just Making Them Sweat carves out a unique niche in the field of fitness publishing. No other book in this genre addresses more thoroughly the psychological factors of motivating clients and the how-to aspects of starting up and promoting a personal training business. No longer are personal trainers to be seen as glorified spotters just biding their time until the next career move. They are qualified health professionals who design and monitor the exercise programs that improve peoples' lives and health. The goal of this book is to promote a more reverent view of personal trainers.

About Ed Thornton

Ed Thornton is a nationally certified Personal Fitness Instructor. He has nine years of training experience in the Boulder City Recreation Department and three years of experience owning and operating Prime Time Health And Fitness, a successful exercise studio where he trains clients six days a week. His educational background also includes a C.M.T. certification from the Boulder College of Massage Therapy, with credits in anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, nutrition, and hydrotherapy. He specializes in cross-training individuals (mostly between the ages of thirty and seventy) who wish to increase their strength, endurance, muscle definition, flexibility, and lose weight. He works with younger athletes who need specific programs designed to enhance their ability to compete. An important part of his program involves dietary counseling -- along with educating people in how to increase the efficiency of their metabolism by using resistance training in conjunction with aerobic activity.
