ORANGE Down Under
When Orange the flying pig, and his best friend, Jes, take a flying trip to Australia to find Orange's distant relatives, they end up finding much more than that. Covering much of the continent by way of some very interesting modes of transportation, they encounter adventure, excitement, danger, and intrigue awaiting them in Orange Down Under.Krista Dowell Hi, I’m Krista. A few years ago my sister, Robbi, and I got together via skype to write stories for our grandchildren. This happened after many years of living far apart, each of us doing “our own thing.” For me, this meant getting an education, getting married, having two children (which eventually led to 10 grandchildren), getting involved in ministry as my husband, Ken, became a pastor, moving from Missouri to New England, back to Missouri, and then out to Kansas. After that, we went to England where Ken was the president (or principal as the Brits call it) of a Bible College. From there we went to Nicaragua where we spent ten years serving as missionaries. The last two years of that were spent in a remote little town literally at the end of the road. To go farther east the traveler must go by boat. Since three rivers converged on our town, El Rama, there was much to see and do in that jungle region. After the death of our parents, Robbi and I felt a need to re-connect through some activity we could do together. And thus was born The Orange Chronicles. Life, love, ministry, adventure, fun, and excitement all went into the writing of our books. We named our grandchildren in them, we researched and learned a lot, and we incorporated some of my experiences in England and Nicaragua. But most of all we just had fun. And that’s what we hope our readers will do, too.
