The ore docks at Two Harbors, Minnesota, are vulnerable.Dennis Herschbach of Sartell, MN Dennis Herschbach is a retired school teacher who lived most of his adult life on the north shore of Lake Superior. He has published three books: Grief Journey, Brown Sugar Syrup and Jack Pine Sand, and South First and Lakefront, a poetry chapbook. His book Brown Sugar Syrup and Jack Pine Sand was the 2011 winner of a Northeast Minnesota Book Award for best memoir. In 2009, his short story, “Healing in the Mourning” won first place for fiction and was published in The Talking Stick. He has had numerous poems published in anthologies, as well as other short stories. Herschbach currently resides in Sartell, Minnesota, and enjoys a life of travel and writing.
