Wake Up and Roar
Poetry for Meditation and Awakening
Guthema's poetry contains life itself and it enters straight into your heart as you read each verse that seems to dance within you. Every single verse is like a drop of magic that sinks in deeply and you will laugh and smile feeling the presence of God in them as well as in you. He is a master artist of creating words that dance in new and unique ways with one another in brilliant form and flow so effortlessly off of the page as they drop right into your soul.
Guthema Roba of Minneapolis, MN Guthema Roba immigrated to the US in 2001 from Ethiopia and started working for the Hennepin County library. Over the last ten years, his writing has shifted intensely from outside towards the heart. Disguised as daybreak, poems knock on his chest every day. “My task is to get up and open the door. It is that easy and effortless,” he says. “The world is already starving for love and light and poetry like this,” he adds. He no longer identifies himself as a poet or a writer of any kind. “I am just a space through which the milk of poetry moves.” He lives in Minneapolis with his wife and daughter.
